I don’t understand why people think suicide is so different from somebody dying of something else. Depression is an illness. Just because it isn’t physical, doesn’t mean it’s any less painful or real. The cause of death by suicide isn’t selfishness or weakness, it’s illness. If it wasn’t an illness, why would it be treated medically? It’s just as deadly as any other illness but it kills a person mentally before they kill themselves physically.
